How to Remove the Steering Wheel from a Golf 7

In this video tutorial, the procedure for replacing the steering wheel in a Volkswagen Golf 7 is shown. To replace it, first disconnect the battery, then get into the car, insert the key, and turn the steering wheel to access the clip with a screwdriver to open the steering wheel and disconnect the airbag to prevent it from deploying accidentally during the removal process. Once the first clip is opened, turn the steering wheel to reach the other clip and open the steering wheel. After opening the steering wheel cover, disconnect the airbag by unplugging the wires that power it. Once the airbag is removed, use a T-55 socket to remove a bolt to take off the steering wheel. To refit it, screw in the bolt, reconnect the airbag, and then close the steering wheel.
