How to Remove the Radio from the VW New Beetle

To remove the original radio, you first need the specific extraction keys. These are essentially very thin metal bars with a bevel at the end. Once inserted into the slots at both ends of the radio (under the two knobs), with the bevel facing inward, they allow you to disengage the catches and extract the radio from its housing. After inserting the keys, press until the radio releases and pull it out, disconnecting the relevant plugs and the antenna jack.
