To replace the cabin fan resistor on a Volkswagen Polo, open the glove compartment located on the passenger side: once opened, loosen the screws that secure the glove compartment to its housing. This will allow you to remove the glove compartment and access the components at its rear; here you will locate the fan and the corresponding resistor.

This can now be disconnected and replaced with a new spare part, then reassemble all previously removed components.
