Volkswagen Golf - Video tutorial
Model: Volkswagen Golf
5K1, MK 6, Golf 6, Golf VI
- Years 2008-2012 In order to replace the steering lock of the Volkswagen Golf, you need to loosen the screws at the back of the steering wheel so that the central airbag can be removed from its housing. After the airbag has been removed, it will be possible to loosen the central nut that secures the steering wheel, completely removing it as well. By doing this, the coverings around the steering column can be detached. The steering lock will now be visible and can be removed by loosening the fixing screws and disconnecting the power cables. In this way, the new replacement part can be inserted and all the removed components can be reassembled.
