Replacement of Brake Disc and Pads

Model: Volkswagen Sharan MK 1, 7M - Years 1995-2010

Place your vehicle on axle stands and remove the relevant wheels. To perform this task, you will need to equip yourself with an electronic tool that can connect to your vehicle's control unit. Connect it to the connector located exactly where the pedals are; you will immediately notice the socket for the connector. Search through the various options until you reach the one related to "calibration of the electric parking brake assistance". Now, remove the bolts located on the back of the brake disc to remove the central part of the brake, including the piston. Next, remove the pads and the part that held them by removing the bolt at the back. To proceed with the removal of the disc, you will need to remove the bolt located in the centre of the disc. Retract the piston to its furthest back position. Make the necessary replacements and follow the steps in reverse for reassembly.
