In this video, see how to activate "Launch Control" on a Volkswagen Golf VIII GTI. This feature maintains the engine's RPM at a predetermined level, allowing the car to build power before the computer or operator disengages the clutch. Access the infotainment system and select "vehicle", scroll to "brakes" where you can select the desired traction control level and choose "ESC off". An additional confirmation will be required; now select the sport mode using the drive mode button and switch to sport mode "S1" on the gearbox as well.

Press the brake pedal and the accelerator at the same time, and the dashboard will display the active launch control screen. Wait for the engine to build power, then release the brake pedal.
