How do you deactivate Lane Assist on the Volkswagen Golf?

Disabling Lane Assist on the Volkswagen Golf is done by turning on the instrument panel, inserting the ignition key into the slot: once the panel is on, you can press the CAR button next to the central dashboard display and then press the "Setup" option. Then a screen will appear where you need to select the "Driving Assistance" option and you can scroll through the menu that appears: when you see the "Lane Assist" option, you can simply deactivate it by removing the checkmark next to the "Active" option.
