Grip the engine cover with both hands (specifically at both ends) and pull it away from the engine. There are clips underneath the cover that fit into slots on the cylinder head. To refit, take the cover and place it on the cylinder head. Ensure the clips fit into their slots and press down until they click into place. Press gently to avoid breaking the cover.
