How to Replace the Key Battery on a Passat

Model: Volkswagen Passat B6, 3C - Years 2005-2010

In this guide, learn how to replace the battery in a Passat key. Take your key and extract the plastic key blade from the key fob by pressing the side button. Once the blade is removed, pull off the chrome cap. Using a screwdriver, lift the cover of the key to find the circuit board and battery inside. Replace the worn battery with a new one (same size and voltage). Reassemble the key and insert the key blade back inside. Test the key's functionality with the dedicated buttons.
