The service light on the Volvo V40 can be reset by turning on the ignition, inserting the key, and then pressing and holding the OK button located at the end of the lever to the left of the steering wheel. This will cause a red light to start flashing, and when it disappears completely, you can turn off the ignition.

At this point, turn it back on and check that the service light has gone out from the dashboard. You can verify the reset by turning the ignition off and on again.
