Installing Gear Shift Shortening Kit

Model: Volvo V70 MK 1 - Years 1996-2000

Open the front bonnet and ensure it is securely supported. Remove the air filter housing by first unclipping the cover, the mass air sensor connector, and the associated duct, then removing the lower part of the housing. Unclip the gear shift cables by removing the clip and washer, and pull the bush from the eyelet. Clean the bush seat with fine sandpaper, insert the new bushes, and secure them with the corresponding circlip. Place the new plate on the gear shift fork and mark the points for drilling holes for fixing; then drill the fork. Attach the gear shift cable to the new plate and then the plate to the original fork: this will reduce the travel of the gear lever for gear engagement.
