Timing Belt Replacement

Open the hood and ensure it is securely supported. Remove the mounting bolts of the anti-roll bar at the shock absorber supports and the support near the brake fluid reservoir to remove the bar. Remove the plastic cover above the timing belt and move the power steering oil reservoir and coolant reservoir to facilitate the subsequent disassembly operations. Using the appropriate wrench, rotate the tensioner of the auxiliary belt and release the pulleys by removing the belt. Complete the disassembly of the other side cover of the timing belt. Then, remove the right front wheel and the corresponding wheel well to access the crankshaft pulley, which must be rotated to position the timing marks: the notch on the side of the camshaft pulleys must align with the marks on the upper cover (which will need to be temporarily repositioned), and at the same time, the notch on the toothed pulley inside the crankshaft pulley will align. Next, remove the mounting bolts of the crankshaft pulley and take it off; loosen the tensioner and remove the timing belt, which shows visible cracks. Replace the bearing and the tensioner (both usually included in the kit with the belt), apply the new belt, positioning it correctly on the various pulleys, and tension it by properly adjusting the tensioner while ensuring the system remains in time. Reinstall the crankshaft pulley, the auxiliary belt, the covers, the reservoirs, and the bar that were previously removed.
