Why the Clutch Pedal Stays Down

In this video, we can see why the clutch pedal remains fully down and the clutch disengages too early; there is almost certainly a leak at the hydraulic bearing, which may not be visible from underneath: it could be a problem seen from inside the vehicle.

If we look near the clutch pedal, we find oil seeping from the pump onto the mat, which also damages the clutch.

It’s a problem because there is quite a lot to dismantle, but in the meantime, we see that the brake fluid reservoir is at a minimum. Dismantle the battery and note that the pipe leading the fluid to the pump has an electric sensor, and the entire assembly needs replacing; this is not an easy task as we will also need to dismantle part of the internal dashboard and then bleed the brake fluid system before refilling the new fluid throughout the circuit, ensuring no air bubbles form.

Once everything is back in place, you can reassemble the battery and the job is done. The YouTuber also reminds us of the benefits of periodically replacing the brake fluid.
