Check Engine Oil Level and Top Up

Model: Volvo S40 MK 1 - Years 1995-2004

Open the bonnet and ensure it is safely supported. Remove the dipstick for the engine oil level, clean the tip, and reinsert it to check the level to assess any oil consumption: the dipstick has two marks indicating the minimum and maximum levels. The difference between the minimum and maximum levels is one litre of oil: if the level is at the minimum, top up the engine oil through the appropriate cap, pouring in one litre of oil according to the SAE specifications indicated in the user and maintenance manual. Check the level again after topping up.
