How to Replace the Key Battery in a Volvo XC40

Model: Volvo Xc40 MK 1 - Years 2017-2026

Start by pressing and holding the button located at the bottom of the key fob for your Volvo XC40, then remove the back cover of the key. Next, unclip and remove the front cover by releasing the fastening hooks, then unscrew and remove the battery cover. This will give you access to the dead battery in the key. Proceed to extract the battery from its housing, completing the disassembly. To install the new battery and close the key, simply reverse this procedure, and the replacement will be complete.
