Part: Timing belt
Operation: How to replace the timing belt on a Volvo S40.

Replacing the timing belt of the Volvo S 40 is not a simple operation, so it would be advisable to go to a workshop to have it replaced; but for the more curious, here is a video tutorial on how the job is done. First, we open the hood and remove all the parts that obstruct access to the belt, such as the water pump, tensioner, etc. To remove the timing belt, we first need to loosen the pulley to release the tension and then remove the pulley, camshaft gear, injection pump gear, and water pump tensioner roller, and finally remove the belt. To install the new belt, we need to follow the direction of the arrows that indicate the direction of rotation. Once the belt is inserted by hand, we install the pulley to add tension and the remaining mechanical parts. We check the tension carefully before installing the water pump and other engine parts that were previously removed.
