Volvo S70 - Video tutorial

Model: Volvo S70 MK 1 - Years 1996-2000
Part: Drums and shoes
Operation: Why does the brake drum sometimes stick?

In this new experience we are going to explain why the brake drum sticks. But before starting let's explain how the drum brake works. The brake has a function, which in order to stop the wheel, i.e. the vehicle, needs the two springs in the center of the brake to pull an iron plate near the drum and creating friction, the wheel stops. So after having made this explanation we can understand that if the springs that bring the iron plates back have worn out then the system no longer works as it should. In conclusion, we can say that the malfunction is caused by the pump which does not make the two springs go back or by the springs themselves.
