Replacing Front and Rear Brake Discs

Model: Volvo S70 MK 1 - Years 1996-2000

Lift the vehicle on suitable axle stands and remove the wheels. Start with the front brakes by removing the brake caliper, the associated bracket, and then the disc. Clean the disc seat on the hub with a metal brush, apply grease, and install the new disc after cleaning it of protective oil. If you have a dial gauge, you can also measure any runout of the disc. Complete the installation of the brake pads and caliper by lubricating the sliding parts. For the rear brakes, remove the drum, replace the shoes while paying attention to the springs, and clean the inside of the drum with sandpaper before reinstalling it. Pump the brake pedal until it offers the correct resistance and be cautious during the initial braking.
