To replace the timing belt on a Volvo XC60, open the hood to access the engine compartment. Loosen the screws securing the left engine cover panel; underneath this panel, you will find the timing belt.

Remove the belt by reducing its tension: to do this, completely remove the tensioner pulley by loosening the center nut. After the old belt is removed, install the new one around the pulleys, reposition the tensioner pulley, and check its operation.
