Today, we will look at the procedure for disassembling and replacing the battery in the remote key of the Volvo S40. First, take your remote and use a thin, pointed object to pry open the side slot; this will separate the remote into two parts, giving you access to the battery and the circuit board, as shown in the video.

Now, remove and replace the old battery with a new one of the correct type (in this case, a CR 2032 3V); insert it the correct way round and reassemble the remote, then test its functionality.
