Replacing Front Suspension Control Arms
Model: Audi A6
C5, MK 2
- Years 1997-2004
Lift the vehicle on a lift and remove the wheel corresponding to the suspension you need to work on.
Then, remove the mounting bolts for the control arm ball joints at the hub support. To extract the ball joints from the support, it is suggested to widen the clamp by inserting a flathead screwdriver or a chisel into the gap. Next, remove the mounting bolt of the shock absorber from the control arm. Accessing the engine compartment, remove the plastic cover of the battery compartment and the plastic cover located just below the windshield: then locate the 3 mounting bolts of the shock absorber support to the vehicle frame and remove them; then extract the shock absorber complete with support and control arms and place it on a workbench to replace the control arms. Then remove the mounting bolts of the control arms from the shock absorber support and replace them with new ones, ensuring not to reverse them (they are not symmetrical, and the longer one is located toward the front of the vehicle), adjust their length using the appropriate gauge, and eliminate any interference between the control arm and the support with a grinder. Then reposition the shock absorber in its place and tighten the mounting bolts of the support to the frame; reinstall the plastic covers; secure the ball joints of the control arms to the hub support and tighten the respective mounting bolts; finally, tighten the mounting bolt of the shock absorber to the control arm and reinstall the wheel. After installing the new control arms, it is recommended to have a wheel alignment performed.

Oil Change on X City 250
Position an oil collection tray under the oil drain. Open the oil filler cap and proceed to unscrew the drain plug as specified in the video. Once all the oil has drained, you can re-screw the drain plug and tighten it properly. From the right side of the engine, you can refill the new oil of the type recommended by the manufacturer, ensuring to respect the maximum level (check it using the dipstick located in the cap). Once the refilling operation is complete, close the plastic cap, tightening it properly. by ScegliAuto More videos
