Operation: Removing the belt and thermostat

The following operations must be strictly carried out with a cold engine. It is a job that requires some time, patience and good dexterity. The first operation to do is to empty the cooling circuit, then move on to the radiator, disconnecting the fan pin. Then remove the front wheel, on the driver's side, and remove the plastic inside the wheel arch, so as to reach the radiator and disconnect the lower tube. The next step is to remove the power steering belt. If you take a look at the engine, there is a black pulley under the thermostat with nuts that need to be loosened. If you have a hard time removing the belt just remove the water pump pulley and it will all come off. The thermostat block must then be removed and the tubes that reach under the thermostat block must be disconnected. The electric plug must then be disconnected from above the thermostat and unscrewed the bolt that holds the electric cables in place. First gear is engaged so as not to crank the engine, the two plastic parts covering the belt tensioners are removed and it can be removed.

How to open the bonnet of the Volkswagen Polo

Let's see in this short and simple guide the instructions that will allow us to open the bonnet of the Volkswagen Polo. First of all we open the front door, on the driver's side, and start pulling the opening lever of the engine hood, in order to open the lock; then let's move to the front of the vehicle and unhook the tab that we find on the central part, above the manufacturer's emblem, as shown in the video. At this point we block the bonnet with the lateral rod; then we accompany the bonnet down to close it again!
