How to Replace the Ignition Switch on an Audi A4

Before you begin, sit in the driver's seat of your Audi A4. Start by removing the airbag; simply unscrew the mounting screws and disconnect the electrical connector. Next, remove the steering wheel by unscrewing the central retaining nut. Once that is done, remove the steering column cover, then remove the turn signal switch by unscrewing the mounting screws and disconnecting the electrical connectors. This will expose the screws that secure the ignition switch, which you will need to unscrew and remove, then disconnect the electrical plugs. At this point, remove the ignition switch itself, and the disassembly will be complete. To install the new ignition switch, follow these instructions in reverse, and you will be finished.
