In order to replace the steering angle sensor of the BMW 3 Series, you need to release the pins located at the back of the steering wheel, so that the airbag in the center of the wheel can be freed from its housing: once this has been removed, you can disconnect the connector and remove it completely.

The central nut of the steering wheel can now be loosened to remove the wheel completely: the steering angle sensor will now be accessible and can be removed from its seat in order to be replaced with a new one.
