How to replace the rear brake pads on a BMW X1 F48.

Let's see how to replace the rear brake pads on a BMW X1 F48: we activate the installation mode by connecting the diagnostic tool to the EOBD port, turning on the instrument panel, and then selecting the "brake service" position. We lift the car and remove the wheels, take off the retaining clip from the caliper, insert a flathead screwdriver between the old pad and the piston, pushing it inward. We unscrew the two screws that secure the caliper to its bracket, clean it with a wire brush, and inspect the condition of the disc. We install the new pads: the one without the spring goes on the outside, and the one with the spring goes on the inside. We place the caliper back over the new pads, tighten the screws, reattach the caliper retaining clip, replace the wear sensor by removing it from its housing, disconnecting the connector, connecting the new one, and securing the new sensor in place. We reassemble the wheel, deactivate the installation mode, and then pump the brake pedal until it becomes firm to reposition the pads.
