How do you remove the fuel pump from the tank of a BMW 3 Series? Let's go through the disassembly. First, disconnect the battery cables. Then, remove the rear seat cushions from the car. Use a socket wrench to remove the bolts (nuts) securing the metal cover (if present), and take it out of its place. Cover the perimeter with rags to absorb any fluid leaks. Unscrew the clamp securing the fuel pump and disconnect the power connectors and the fluid circulation hoses. Extract the floating fuel pump from its housing along with any attached parts. Install the new piece in the tank.
