How to Change Engine Mounts on a BMW 320d E90 with M47 Engine

To change the engine mounts on a BMW 320d E90 (M47), the first mount is the gray one with a rubber bushing and internal oil. Remove the windshield washer hose for more space. Using a 16 mm wrench and three extensions (two long and one short), loosen the upper bolt of the mount, then the two Torx bolts (T12) and the mounting bracket, otherwise the mount will not come out. Lift the engine with a jack, placing it near the transmission on a sturdy point (use a piece of wood to avoid damage) to remove the mount and replace it. The second mount is more difficult: you can see that the engine is lowered (the cover is not aligned) because the mount is broken, causing oil and fluid leaks and irregular operation.

From underneath, there are two Torx screws (T12) or alternatively a 10 mm swivel socket. The 16 mm bolt should be loosened from above, then unscrewed by hand.

Be careful not to let the wrench or bolt hit the crossmember. Once the mount is free, raise the engine with the jack.

Install the new mount: first, screw in the two lower Torx screws without tightening, allow the mount to settle by lowering the engine, then tighten well. Pay attention to the alignment tab on the bolt (there is a hole and a dot that must match) to avoid mixing up right and left.
