How to Replace the Automatic Transmission Fluid in the BMW E90

To replace the automatic transmission fluid in the BMW 3 Series E90, you need advanced skills, professional equipment, and especially personal protective equipment (PPE) to protect your hands and eyes. Now let's go through the steps in detail. With the vehicle lifted, remove the underbody panel covering the oil pan, unscrew the plug, and drain a quantity of fluid equal to the volume of the cleaning additive you will introduce after connecting the equipment fittings. Once the additive is added, the vehicle needs to be driven for about 12 mi to flush the transmission, torque converter, and oil cooling circuit. After driving this distance, lift the vehicle again, reopen the plug, and completely drain the used oil. Completely unscrew the oil pan and remove it, being careful of any residual oil. Remove the old gasket, clean the surface where the new gasket will go, and replace the oil filter. Introduce the quantity and type of oil specified by the manufacturer into the transmission and finish by adding the nano-particle additive that reduces friction on the various transmission components.
