How to Reset the "Service" Light on a BMW 5 Series

Model: BMW Serie 5 E39 - Years 1995-2003
Part: Service warning light

Before you begin, sit in the driver's seat of your BMW 5 Series. Start by pressing and holding the button located near the fuel gauge. While holding the button, turn the key to the first position to activate the instrument cluster. Once the instrument cluster is activated, continue holding the button until you enter the reset menu. At this point, press the button again and hold it until the "Service" light turns off, completing the reset.
