How to Remove the Steering Wheel of the BMW 1 Series?

To remove the steering wheel of the BMW 1 Series, first remove the front airbag located on the steering wheel. To remove the airbag, loosen the two screws found at the bottom of the steering column: this will allow you to detach the airbag from the steering wheel and disconnect all the cables at the back. At this point, you can loosen the central nut that secures the steering wheel shaft. The steering wheel can then be completely removed from the column and replaced with a new replacement part, which must be properly secured.
