How to Reset the "Service" Light on a BMW 1 Series

Before you can start, activate the instrument cluster. Once done, press the trip mileage button located in the bottom left corner of the instrument cluster and hold it down.

Doing this will display the message "Engine Oil - Reset Available" on the multifunction display. Once this message appears, release the button and then press it again, continuing to hold it until the message "Perform Reset?" appears.

To confirm, release the button again and press it until the message "Reset Successful" appears. This completes the reset successfully.
