Dashboard Light Bulb Replacement Instructions

Model: BMW Serie 3 E36 - Years 1990-2001
Part: Instrument panel light

To replace the bulbs in the instrument cluster, you need to remove it from the dashboard: unscrew the mounting screws along the top edge, and using a thin plastic pry tool (a credit card can also work), pry along the edges to extract it from its housing; once the cluster is pulled forward, disconnect the connectors from the back to complete the removal (bayonet closure).
At this point, place the cluster on a work surface and use needle-nose pliers to turn the bulb holders counterclockwise and remove them; then pull out the old bulb (T5 base) and insert the new one: due to the low cost, it is recommended to replace all the bulbs. Reconnect the instrument cluster, ensure all the indicator lights turn on, and complete the installation.
