Replacing Windshield Washer Reservoir Grommets
Model: BMW Serie 5
E39
- Years 1995-2003
If you notice fluid leaks near the rear of the front right wheel (passenger side), it is likely that there is a leak from the windshield washer reservoir. To access the reservoir, lift the vehicle using a jack stand and remove both the wheel and the plastic wheel well. Once you locate the reservoir, check for any damage: if it is intact, the leak is likely due to a loss of seal from the pump grommets. Disconnect the power connectors, remove the pumps, and replace the sealing grommets. Once everything is reassembled, fill the reservoir and ensure there are no more leaks before reinstalling the wheel well.
