Operation: How do you replace the timing chain of the BMW 3 Series?

The procedure for replacing the timing chain on the BMW 3 Series involves opening the hood to loosen the screws that secure the valve cover and the side panel of the engine block: underneath it, the chain can be located around the respective pulleys. By loosening the screws that secure the chain tensioner, it will be possible to reduce its tension and then remove the chain from its seat; at this point, it will be possible to insert the new replacement part, reinstall the chain tensioner, and verify that everything is functioning correctly.
