Car Creaking Problem

Model: BMW Serie 7 E68, E65, MK 4, E67, E66 - Years 2001-2008
Part: Checks and maintenance

If your car creaks when turning or makes a squealing noise when you turn the steering wheel, there are several possible causes. The most likely causes of a creaking car are; suspension losing lubrication, low power steering fluid, and the steering wheel cover rubbing against the interior trim.
• Squeaks, clunks, clicks, and creaks: any of these sounds indicate wear and shocks and worn suspensions. They also indicate dry bushings, ball joints, or tie rods. These types of noises are accompanied by poor car maintenance and vibrations.
• Grinding or metallic ringing: these noises usually come from worn brake components.
• Creaking or clicking when turning sharply: this noise suggests the need to replace the CV joint.
• Squealing, squeaks, or whining: most of the time, these issues indicate a problem with your power steering system, from a loose belt to a faulty pump or low power steering fluid.
