Reprogramming the key for the BMW 5 Series model E39 is necessary after replacing the battery or the vehicle's control unit. This process is simple and quick, so it can be done independently. To program the key, do the following: - Enter the car; - Turn on the ignition and then turn it off twice in a row; - Press and hold the lock button for a few seconds or until the car locks and unlocks by itself; - Wait a few seconds and press the lock button a second time; - Turn the ignition on and off once; - Press the lock and unlock buttons once each. After completing all the steps, you will have reprogrammed your key.
