In this video, learn how to check the oil level on BMW 3 Series F30/F31 models that do not have a dipstick, but measure it through the iDrive system: Use the button/knob located in the center of the console and scroll through the menu to: "Vehicle Information". Then select "Vehicle Status" and go to "Oil Level". Scroll down to "Engine Oil Level Measurement". A warning informs you that this operation is only possible when the engine is at operating temperature and the vehicle is parked on a level surface.

The transmission must be in "P" or "N", and the accelerator must not be pressed.

Start the engine, and the check begins. It will then provide a minimum and maximum reading and confirm that the oil level is okay.
