How to Reset the ESC Light When It Stays On or Flashes

First, what does it mean when the ESC light is on? A solid light means the system is disabled; a flashing light means the system is active. Common reasons for the light to come on include accidentally pressing the button (which is often located near the steering wheel). Another cause could be different tread depths or measurements between the axles, which confuse the sensors. Additionally, worn wheel bearings can damage the sensors. Another reason might be a faulty steering angle sensor that does not correctly detect steering movements, or a defective ABS module: this is the control unit that processes the sensor data. Professional diagnosis is necessary.
