How to Replace the Clutch on a Citroen Xsara Picasso

Replacing the clutch is not an easy DIY maintenance task as it requires good general mechanical knowledge as well as specific tools for centring the disc and the release bearing. That said, it is advisable to lift the vehicle on a ramp rather than on axle stands for better manoeuvring space. Disconnect the battery and free the driveshaft on the gearbox side from the wheel hub to extract it from the gearbox. Then, remove the gearbox from the engine and proceed with replacing the clutch kit before reassembling everything.
