How to Remove the XSARA Picasso Battery

Model: Citroen Xsara Picasso MK 1 - Years 1999-2012

Before replacing the battery, engage the handbrake and switch off the ignition. On many car models, the battery is located in the engine bay, but on this Citroen, you will not open the bonnet; instead, check under the driver's seat. First, remove the headrest from the seat in front of the steering wheel. Then, operate the two levers located at the bottom, towards the back of the seat. Unscrew the two bolts that secure the bracket holding the battery. After removing the metal piece, disconnect the battery from the cables and you can take it out. To refit, perform all steps in reverse.
