Citroen C1 - Video tutorial
Model: Citroen C1
MK 1
- Years 2005-2014 In this video, we see how to replace the catalytic converter on a Citroen C1 (but the procedure is the same for the Peugeot 107 or the Toyota Aygo as well). We open the hood and disconnect the battery, starting with the negative pole. Then, we lift the front part of the car, placing it on two stands; we will need to remove the front bumper. Above the bumper, there are three screws that we will need to unscrew with a 10 mm socket wrench; at the fender level, on each side, there is a screw that we will need to remove. Finally, we will need to remove the five screws that support the lower part of the bumper. Now that the bumper is free, we just need to pull it slightly towards us, but first we need to push the plastic tabs that still hold the bumper inward. The catalytic converter is a vertical cylinder next to the radiator. First, we need to disconnect the lambda sensor on the top by pulling it, then we need to unscrew the sensor with a 22 mm wrench. From underneath the car, we need to unscrew the two clamps of the exhaust valve with a 13 mm socket wrench; we separate the two elements with a pry bar. With a socket wrench, we remove the screws that secure the element, and then we unscrew the stand. Now the catalytic converter is free and we can remove it from the front at the radiator level. Let's remember to remove the worn gasket, while the heat shields can be reused by mounting them on the new one. We clean the seat where we will need to remount the gasket and install it, we mount the sealing gasket on the catalytic converter and go to install it in its place by first screwing the upper screws and then the stand screw. We screw back the two spring screws of the clamp on the lower part. Now, we screw back the lambda sensor and reconnect it. We can reassemble the bumper, starting with the tabs and then inserting the screws. We can lower the car. Reconnect the battery. On some cars, it may be necessary to inform the ECU that the catalytic converter has been changed.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHandbrake adjustment on Ford EcosportFirst remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base. by ScegliAuto More videos
