To replace the starter motor on a Dodge Caliber, open the bonnet to locate the components inside the engine compartment. Here, you will need to disconnect the air intake hose to gain access to the starter motor underneath.

The device is located between the side of the engine block and the battery: loosen the bolts that secure it to its housing and then disconnect the power cables before you can remove it. Once removed, insert the new spare part, reattaching the air intake hose.
