How do you make a double on a vintage Fiat 500?

On Fiat 500 cars made before 1975, the gearbox was not synchronized, so to change gears we had to perform what is called a "double-clutching" but in common language it was called a "double-shift". For example: press the clutch, put it in first gear, give gas, press the clutch again, release the accelerator, put it in neutral, release the clutch, press the clutch again and then put it in second gear. If we had to downshift, that is, go back, there was a variation: if we had to go from third to second gear: press the clutch, put it in neutral, give a little gas, and in the meantime press the clutch and put it in second gear. This was done to help the gears be more synchronized.
