How to tune the engine of a Fiat Ducato 2.3

In this video, we see how to tune the engine of a Fiat Ducato 2.3: it is necessary to follow a specific procedure, respecting particular reference marks on the engine; this is a crucial operation to ensure that valves and pistons work in sync. We must disconnect the battery and make sure the engine is cold, then remove any covers that prevent access to the belt (or chain); it may be necessary to remove other components, such as the right front wheel, and the fender, for better access. Rotate the crankshaft clockwise until the top dead center of the first cylinder is reached, and insert the locking pin into the specific hole on the engine block. Identify the reference marks on the camshaft pulleys, and rotate it until they are aligned, then insert the pins to lock them in position. Install the belt on the pulleys, using the tensioner to give the right tension. Then manually rotate for two turns and check that the reference marks on the crankshaft and camshafts are aligned. Reassemble all components and reconnect the battery.
