How to replace the battery on a Fiat 500? This guide explains how to remove the battery from the engine compartment: open the car door and pull up the engine compartment release lever located at the bottom left of the dashboard, then lift the front bonnet, releasing the catch with your fingers, and secure it with the stay. Once the engine compartment is open, you will find the battery to be replaced on the right. Start by unscrewing the securing bolts of the battery terminals with the appropriate socket spanner, disconnect the securing plate (if present). Remove the old battery and install a new one, tightening the power terminals. Close the battery compartment and shut the bonnet.
