It may happen that, due to the formation of rust in the engine cooling system, the thermostatic valve may jam, no longer allowing the correct exchange between the hot liquid in the engine and the cooled liquid in the radiator, leading to an increase in the temperature of the liquid itself; to replace this valve it is first suggested to let the engine cool down and then to start disassembling the battery and the engine air filter box to have more room for maneuver; precisely drain the coolant and proceed with the disassembly of the thermostatic valve located on the side of the engine, immediately below the depressor; in addition to the valve, it is advisable to also replace the pipes and then fill the circuit with a suitable refrigerant liquid.

How to set the time on the Peugeot 308
