How to Replace the Spark Plugs on a Fiat 500

Let's see how to change the spark plugs on a 2014 Fiat 500 1.4. First, remove the engine cover, which is secured with a retaining clip, then take out the coils, secured with 10 mm bolts on top. It is not necessary to disconnect the electrical connectors; the leads are long enough to allow the coils to be moved sideways. Be careful of the PCV hose that runs over the coil of cylinder number 2. To access comfortably, unscrew the hose from the opposite side so you can move it. Insert a 16 mm socket into the spark plug well, unscrew it clockwise, and extract the spark plug with a magnet. Screw in the new ones (available in iridium on Amazon with code B017Z11LVS for £48.00 for a kit of 4, with free delivery) by hand, then tighten with a torque wrench. Refit the coils by reinstalling the 10 mm bolts, reconnect the PCV hose, and remount the engine cover.
