Guide to Remove the Engine from the Fiat 124 Spider

In this brief guide, you will find the main instructions to remove the engine from the body of the first generation Fiat 124 Spider, listing the main components to be removed or disconnected. First, drain the engine oil; then disconnect all electrical and non-electrical wiring found on the top of the engine, from the distributor to the fuel lines. Next, disconnect the engine mounts and the gearbox by unscrewing all the fixing bolts; also disconnect the front brake lines to remove the engine.
