Operation: How to replace the timing belt on a Fiat Doblò

Remove the belt cover and crankshaft pulley, you have to bring the engine to the first cylinder. You will hold it still with a special marker. Then the fuel pump is locked with two screws: there are holes in the pump made just for this use. We have a lighter mark on the gear wheel, and a triangle on the belt. These two marks must be aligned. Loosen the idler roller nut to loosen the belt, which can now be removed. When reassembling the tensioner roller, pay particular attention: it has a slot that must coincide with a pin of the engine. To tighten the timing belt means following a very specific path: you have to start from the crankshaft, then the guide roller, then the camshaft, then on the fuel pump and finally on the water pump. You must push back the lower lever of the tensioner roller, until the indicator is at approximately 14 o'clock. Rotate the motor in the direction of rotation at least twice to test the belt tension: there are two indicators that must coincide and that see from the video. Now remove the locking tools and manually rotate the motor two more times, returning it to the TDC position.
