How to Replace the Rear Brake Pads on a Fiat 500 312

This guide shows how to replace the rear brake pads on a Fiat 500 312. The first step is to unscrew the cap of the brake fluid reservoir from inside the engine bay. Start loosening the bolts on the rear wheels with a 17 mm spanner. Once the wheel is completely removed, clean the brake caliper with a brush and brake cleaner spray. Unscrew the caliper securing bolts with a 13 mm spanner. Remove the brake caliper and secure it. Detach the worn pads, clean the housing, and check the thickness of the brake disc. Apply brake lubricant to the pads' guides and install them in position. Using a brake piston tool, push the caliper piston fully back and refit it in position. Tighten the securing bolts to 35 Nm. Clean the surface of the disc with a suitable spray. Lubricate the contact point with the wheel with copper grease and refit the wheel. Close the brake fluid reservoir and check the proper functioning of the brakes before hitting the road.
